Most white hat SEO agencies also refer to our services as “Native advertising, Online PR & Press releases, Link building for SEO agencies and Blogger outreach”. Digital marketing as an industry younger than 25 years with academics and practitioners still deciding on appropriate terminologies – and only a few of us taking advantage of the huge opportunities that are constantly created in this sphere.
Whatever you call it – we do it right! Opting for a safe and compliant option means that your efforts will not attract penalties from Google, while building increased traffic, brand awareness and skyrocketing your sales.
With online PR there are three essential ingredients you need to be Google friendly:

It means contributing guest content on a 3rd party website. However this can take several forms: Editorial has an overlap with guest posting, especially in cases where editors do not wish to mark content as “sponsored”. The main reason businesses are interested in guest posting, is because they seek to avoid dealing with conventional advertising departments, in order to earn authentic links via outreach.
To buy at cost, you have to run a scaled link building campaign and not a small-time effort. You need to order our content writing service and link management service, after which all our partner deals can be accessed at cost.
For clients running smaller campaigns, it is still possible to buy through us, but certainly not at cost.
This is a very outdated way of doing SEO – and can get your site hit by Google penalties. These days, it is best to leave anchor text decisions to site editors – AND to have a high number of links that contain “read more” and natural anchors, as opposed to keyword rich anchors. It USED to work – but the rules have changed, and will continue to change.
Today, choosing anchors for 20% of the content is great – while leaving 80% up to editors: This ensures that you are not tempted to be manipulative – and ULTIMATELY, that actions are not caught by Google quality reviewers (of which the company employs several thousand worldwide).
Attempting to overrule editorial decisions on anchor text, or pushing for overly promotional text to be contained in a guest post, is not considered good etiquette.
We strike a balance between your need to be presented fairly and properly in guest posts – and the need of readers to access balanced information on the web.
Anyone can slap together a bunch of words and get it published. Will it have good results? No!
This is why you should consider guest posts that are at least 900 words in length so that it may achieve multiple goals.
The basic purpose of a good guest post is to help with your own organic ranking AND to drive traffic in the way links are placed for the reader. But there are numerous other purposes too:
Once a business is past the “startup” phase and there is traction, we then evaluate things on a month to month basis – where clients re-invest on guest posting and on-site content based on the profit they made from previous months’ investment.
Reading our cases studies will help with this. When using gap analysis in strategy, a business exploit the areas where competitors are weak and grow quicker. With head-on challengers, a business takes on competitors in stronger areas to gain market share on competitive keywords – in which case the process takes longer.
“LIFTING THE NEEDLE” on analytics usually happens in 60 days when a substantial effort is made.
If you pick named guest posts without a good “outreach” effort on the open market, guess what? Your competitors can get them too! Great so now there is “parity” with the competition – not enough to overtake them in organic rankings.
Start to EARN links on sites where the competition cannot get a link, or where they cannot pick a named site on the open market – now we read a point of difference that makes your site UNIQUE to search engines, providing them more of an incentive to rank it above the competition.
NOTE: POD’s and POP’s are not the only way to outrank. Another even more effective way is by having very strong and diverse ON-SITE SEO content that is well researched (explained here).
Everyone wants to high DA backlinks from CNN, CNBC, HuffingtonPost, USA Today, Reuters, Politico, NPR, LA Times, New York Post, Newsweek, Business Insider, MarketWatch, Wallstreet Journal, Financial Times, Time Magazine, TheVerge, TechRadar, Wired, Gizmodo, Mashable, DigitalTrends, VentureBeat, Slashgear, Forbes, Entrepreneur.com, Endgadget, TechCrunch,
Does this sound familiar?
Great, well: In our case we do not disclose most of our news partners or participating journalists in advance – because guest posting and link building on premium sites is different than typical advertising and media rate cards that involves branded content.
You can, however, be assured that we have incredibly strong DA sites – and sites that matches your budget. This includes DA30, DA40, DA50, DA60, DA70, DA80, DA90 etc.
The cost of a guest post typically depends on the metrics of the website and whether the links itself will be DO-Follow or NO-Follow.
Everyone loves a bargain – but if it does not help your business, it is NOT a bargain. If you are the only business in an industry, cheap guest posting on low domain authority websites may help. However, in a competitive industry, where other players appear on major news sites, it is only possible to compete and rise in the rankings – by having links from strong websites. These websites are not cheap. The price range for guest posts vary substantially: $25 to $5000 is quite normal.
Being prepared to buy the guest post that your competitor cannot afford, is is too stingy to invest in – often gives you the extra push to stay ahead in organic results.
This is the most important question any CMO must ask when planning a link building campaign.
Example 1: When we create highly authoritative ON-SITE CONTENT, such as white-papers or other valuable content, over time, important news sources start linking to them.
Example 2: When our top-tier press releases quote you often in the news, with well-crafted stories people love, they all start linking to your site. They feel “peer pressure” when noticing other top media sites are linking to you – and perform a “copy-cat” tactic to do authority linking. Remember: Linking to authoritative content is seen as “good” by many webmasters.
Conclusion? Both on-site and off-site authoritative content will cost you more, but it will earn you valuable links that your competitors cannot replicate over night. (This cheap starter guest post package is an example of something a competitor can replicate with ease)
Pricing varies significantly by industry and is influenced by the metrics of each site. It is quite normal for most SME’s to spend 25% of their annual profit on digital marketing, half of that on SEO and the other half on PPC and other channels. The days of paying $700/month on SEO that supports a $250K/month business are over, especially since Google has stricter quality requirements.
Yes. Once we have an order to produce your content, you will receive list proposals for the number of posts required. We will NOT provide one list with all our confidential partner domains upfront without an order, so kindly do not ask for it.
Competitor rank is super powerful. We made millions for our clients by doing this. It is when we get a business to show up for competitors’ branded keywords, in the news and off-site, as well as ON-SITE through this service.
It is totally white-hat, totally legal and is very difficult to achieve because of the research and skill we use to execute it well.
Find a reliable guest posting partner that understands on and off-site content marketing – and develop a long term vision. This is called strategy.
Mistake no.1
Placing one order with the SEO agency, sitting and watching the analytics for 6 weeks to see the results: knee-jerking to order more if you saw a spike, or trying to delete posts if you see a drop. Does this sound familiar? 70% of inefficient marketers do this.
This is how a link building strategy should work:
Guest posting must be a constant, steady, monthly activity. Not a knee-jerk reaction based on impulses and “possibilities” of algorithmic changes. All actions should be guided by a well-crafted digital marketing plan.
Mistake no.2
Buying 100 cheap guest posts as opposed to 1 strong HIGH DA post.
Once you start accumulating links in the range of DA 70 to 90, it really lifts the needle on Google analytics!
We manage a fine balance between avoiding overly-priced options like “Forbes” and finding you sites with similar metrics at a more affordable price. However: that difference means reducing the price of a single post to $1500 (from $8000). Big brands understand it – and that is why they become big. Small brands don’t make the leap towards higher DA sites, which limits their growth.
Think SEO strategy:
You can win a fight but lose the war. Or, even lose two or three fights, but win the overall war when you have SEO strategy!
The days of spending $700/month on SEO and running with low DA sites are officially over. Without sufficient DA60 to 80+ domains linking to you, it is much harder to win a competitive battle.
The value proposition in guest posting is essential. Domain authority has nothing to do with the perceived brand strength. For example your competitor may THINK that spending $20 000 per post on “Forbes”, “INC”, “Endgadget”, “TechCrunch”, “Mashable” or “Entrepreneur” will get them good results, but we may spend it differently and obtain far superior results. It is about the quality of content on a domain and the number of respected inbound links.
It is true that a combination of medium-strength media outfits can be used to outfox stronger metric media sites and win with the public, however the importance of having several DA60 to DA80+ links in your package cannot be underestimated.
We use ROI-driven media decisions to guide us: Instead of 2 guest posts on “Forbes” and “Entrepreneur”, we may procure 5 for the same price, on sites with similar metrics, but lesser known to other SEO companies.
The result is often an equal number of referral visitors, but stronger SEO performance through the link variety and uniqueness.
Let’s look at prominent historic updates that changed the way you should do SEO – and the most recent updates/
Historic updates of significance:
NOFollow attributes will be more important than before. This is what Google said:
“When nofollow was introduced, Google would not count any link marked this way as a signal to use within our search algorithms. This has now changed.
All the link attributes — sponsored, UGC and nofollow — are treated as hints about which links to consider or exclude within Search.
We’ll use these hints — along with other signals — as a way to better understand how to appropriately analyze and use links within our systems.”
The reason you do not want to buy cheap spam links with uniform hyperlinks in bulk is simple – and it has been like this since 2012:
In 2012, we saw Google effect a “webspam algorithm update,” to clamp down on highly manipulative keyword-stuffed links. (After this we started to use “read more” and other generic anchors much more)
This webspam algorithm later became known (officially) as the Penguin algorithm update – and it changed the way SEO is done. Those who did not change, literally lost millions!
Paranoia gripped SEO companies as they desperately grabbed onto the disavow tool to remove the links they worked so hard to build. Thousands of GOOD links were also removed due to poor judgement.
IF ONLY companies earned links through better content marketing and higher DA properties in smaller quantities (a qualitative approach) – but those who were manipulative and greedy to gain loads of worthless links, paid the price.
The Google Medic update in 2018/9 dealt with YMYL and medical content at the same time. Overnight, huge publishers went bust in the health sector and could not make a comeback in general. We have seen a few exceptions now of successful Google Medic updates – but it was not cheap to pull off these operations.
More than 80 other updates occurred in the last 10 years – but the above were so profound that they shook the core of bad publishing companies – and propelled decent, ethical publishers to the top.
Not all updates impact the way we do SEO – but the ones that does, need to be understood properly by the team that carries out your guest posting.
With ex Google and Microsoft marketing consultants in our team we’re in a good position to help you make the best decision to benefit positively from these changes.
